Councilman Shy’Quan Davis is a passionate community advocate with deep roots in Chester, PA who brings academic excellence and professional experience. Councilman Davis is a community-driven leader with a profound understanding of our community’s needs and a passion for positive change, dedicated and committed to the betterment of our beloved City of Chester.

After graduating from Chester High School in 2015, Shy’Quan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication Studies and a minor in Athletic Training/Coaching from Ursinus College in 2019. Shy’Quan then worked as a Legislative Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives. In 2022, Shy’Quan was appointed to serve as Chairman of the Zoning Board for the City of Chester.

A champion of community engagement, Shy’Quan has been actively involved in various local initiatives, from organizing youth and young adult voting outreach to participating in town hall meetings. He believes in the power of collaboration, recognizing that the collective voice of our community is the driving force behind positive change.

On January 2, 2024, Shy’Quan was appointed by City Council to fill the vacant seat left by newly-elected Mayor Roots, making him the youngest to ever serve on Chester City Council. With deep-rooted connections in the community, Councilman Davis understands the unique challenges and opportunities that shape our city, having witnessed its evolution firsthand. Councilman Davis’ unwavering love for Chester fuels his desire to contribute meaningfully to its future.
