Safe Summer Pledge

Summer Curfew Notice

9 PM - 6 AM

A curfew for juveniles 17 years old or younger is in effect from 9pm – 6am every night through August 31

Success Training and Employment Program (STEP)

The Chester Education Foundation (CEF) is now recruiting high school students ages 16-18 for their year-long Success Training and Employment Program (STEP)! This incredible opportunity is open to students who are currently enrolled in high school and have not yet graduated.

Program Highlights:

  • Summer Employment: Work 28 hours per week for 6 weeks at $15/hour
  • School Year Employment: Continue working 9 hours/week during the academic year
  • Professional Development: Attend weekly employment sessions to build your skills and support your success

2026 Beauty and Business Camp

Beauty and Business Camp

Chester girls ages 6-12 are invited to attend Grow & Flow’s 2026 Beauty & Business Camp, where young ladies learn to become beauty bosses! They’ll receive hands-on cosmetology training with industry professionals, learn to make their own beauty products and run a business, and more. Breakfast and lunch provided.

Dates: July 27 – July 31 and August 3 – August 7

Summer Social Club

Your summer. Your vibe. Your library.

Come through the library this summer for Summer Social Club. Each week, we will have something different to do, from art and science activities to sports, movies, gaming, and more.

Bring a friend, grab a meal, try something new, or just chill.

Free meals will be available through our partnership with Feed Philly Now and Ava’s Farm. Meals are available for all ages, and food pantry items and fresh produce will be shared on select days.

2026 Summer Boxing Program - City of Chester PA

Summer Boxing Program

The City of Chester is partnering with Ummah Fight Lab to bring a FREE 8-week Summer Boxing Program for Chester youth ages 6+ years old!

Boxing provides many benefits, including:

  • Physical health benefits
  • Discipline and self-control
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Mental and emotional wellness
  • Positive social development
  • Safety and violence prevention
  • Leadership and life skills
  • Strength and character building

Days: Mondays and Wednesdays
Dates: June 22 – August 10

Safe Summer Soccer Tickets

The Philadelphia Union has generously partnered with the City of Chester to provide FREE Union 2 summer home game tickets for Chester youth and family members!

Parents / guardians / chaperones may reserve tickets for any of the following games:

  • Sunday, July 12 at 3pm vs. Huntsville City Football Club
  • Saturday, August 8 at 12pm vs. Cincinnati 2
  • Sunday, August 23 at 3pm vs. CT United Football Club

To reserve your tickets:

J Lewis Crozer Library Meal Giveaway

Free Summer Meals for Youth

Fuel up for summer! Youth can stop the J. Lewis Crozer Library by for a free healthy meal in a safe, welcoming space.

Thanks to the J. Lewis Crozer Library’s partnership with Feed Philly Now and Ava’s Farm, youth in our community can enjoy nutritious meals all summer long. Ava’s Farm, founded by Kensington native Austin Wright, provides free, fresh meals through distribution sites across Philadelphia and Delaware County, creating spaces where kids can eat, learn, play, and feel supported.

At the library, that mission continues. Come for a meal, connect with friends and neighbors, and enjoy fun programs and activities throughout the summer.

2026 Summer Food Program - City of Chester PA

Summer Food Program

The City of Chester Summer Food Program starts June 29 and runs through August 20!

The City of Chester is pleased to provide FREE, nutritious lunches to children 18 and younger during the summer months, ensuring that children continue to receive meals when they are not in school, as well as fun, games, art, and activities in the park!

Dates: June 29 – August 20
Days: Monday – Thursday
Time: Lunch served at 11am

  • Memorial Park (swimming pool)
  • Christian Church of Chester (308 W 3rd St)
  • Highland Gardens (playground)
  • Crosby Square (basketball courts)
  • Washington Park (1759 Melrose Ave)
