Mayor Thaddeus Kirkland Issues Statement on Passing of Chester Police Officer Bronelle Barrett-Lee
Officer Bronelle Barrett-Lee, a 20-year police-veteran, suddenly passed away after suffering an apparent medical event while on duty on March 21.
(CHESTER, PA) – “On behalf of myself, the rest of Chester City Council, and the entire city of Chester, I offer my deepest, most heartfelt condolences to those who loved and personally knew Officer Lee. I am filled with sadness to know that this community has lost one of its protectors. This city joins the Chester Police Department in mourning the loss of Officer Lee. At this time, I ask that we all keep her children, family and friends in prayer.”
Starting on Monday, March 23, 2020 all flags at any city facility will fly at half-staff through Officer Lee’s funeral.
Information related to Officer Lee’s funeral arrangements will be released at a later time by the Chester Police Department.
