Mayor Thaddeus Kirkland Goes on School Book Tour During Black History Month
(CHESTER, PA) – Mayor Thaddeus Kirkland will visit local schools in the City of Chester to read to students during the last week of Black History Month.
This week Mayor Kirkland is scheduled to visit Chester-Upland School of the Arts (CUSA) on Tuesday, February 26 at 10am and Stetser Elementary School on Thursday, February 28 at 10am.
Last week Mayor Kirkland stopped by Main Street Elementary and read to an auditorium filled with students and faculty. He also made a visit to Chester Community Charter School to read to a group of third grade students.
Each reading session the mayor selects a book that celebrates African American history and/or culture.
