Facebook Live Streaming of Chester City Council Meetings to Continue Through End of October
(CHESTER, PA) – The city of Chester will continue to live stream its Deliberative and Council Meetings on Facebook through the end of October.
While the building is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00am – 2:00pm, city officials want to continue mitigation efforts to reduce the spread or exposure of COVID-19 in City Hall. “Our desire is to reevaluate where the infection rate numbers are in October,” said Mayor Thaddeus Kirkland. “We are eager to get back to our normal public meeting structure and will do so when the numbers indicate it is safe for us to do so.”
The city of Chester is scheduled to hold four Deliberative and four Council Meetings between the months of September and October. The four scheduled Deliberative Meeting dates have changed and will now take place on the same day that corresponds with the bi-weekly Wednesday Council Meetings.

The Deliberative/Council Meetings’ agendas for September 9 will be posted to the City’s website and Facebook page on Tuesday, September 8. The Deliberative/Council Meetings’ agendas for September 23 will be posted to the City’s website and Facebook page on Tuesday, September 22. The Deliberative/Council Meetings’ agendas for October 14 will be posted to the City’s website and Facebook page on Tuesday, October 13. The Deliberative/Council Meetings’ agendas for October 28 will be posted to the City’s website and Facebook page on Tuesday, October 27.
Residents or taxpayers of the city of Chester who wish to provide a public comment for the September 9, September 23, October 14 or October 28 meetings can submit their comment via email starting the Thursday before each meeting until 9:45am on the meeting date.
Any person submitting a public comment must include the same information that is requested at a public meeting. This information includes a person’s name and address.

Any resident or taxpayer that does not have access to email can call in their public comment. Public comments made via phone will be accepted at the start of each Council Meeting at approximately 10:30am until the meeting is adjourned. Persons calling in their comment must provide their full name and address.

All public comments will be read into record during the meetings. Chester City Councilmembers will offer a response to these comments, if warranted.
If a public comment is received without the requested information or if the comment is deemed inappropriate, it will not be read into record or accepted as an official submission.
