CORONAVIRUS FUNDING

 ARE YOU A TENANT IN THE CITY OF CHESTER AND HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO MAKE RENT OR UTILITY PAYMENTS AS A RESULT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC?

The City of Chester has received CDBG-CV funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the CARES Act and has approved a Short-Term Rental and Utility Assistance Program for low to moderate income tenants living in Chester.

If your household meets the income limits listed below and you have lost income or incurred increased costs related to your employment which are directly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may be eligible for up to $3,000 in rental assistance and $1,000 in utility assistance.

            1 Person Household – $54,150.00

            2 Person Household – $61,850.00

            3 Person Household – $69,600.00

            4 Person Household – $77,300.00

            5 Person Household – $83,500.00

            6 Person Household – $89,700.00

            7 Person Household – $95,900.00

            8 Person Household – $102,050.00

Income is the total gross income for all sources, including but not limited to wages, social security, welfare, unemployment, interest, pensions, workers compensation, and any and all income earned by you and other household members.

The Program is being administered on behalf of the City of Chester by the COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY OF DELAWARE COUNTY (CAADC).  ALL APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH CAADC FOR AN INTERVIEW AND APPLICATION BY CALLING 610-874-8451.   You will need to provide proof of income and proof that your income loss was a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
