City of Chester to Hold Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Washington Park

(CHESTER, PA) – On Monday, September 10, 2018 at 3:00pm, the City of Chester will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the reopening of Washington Park.

The ceremony will focus on upgrades made to the site which were necessary after a storm in June 2015 significantly damaged playground equipment. Other site improvements include accessible walkways, sidewalks and curbing.

The project, which cost more than $250,000 to complete was funded through a state grant and federal monies awarded to the Chester Economic Development Authority (CEDA).

Event speakers will include Mayor Thaddeus Kirkland, State Rep. Brian Kirkland, D-Delaware, and a representative from CEDA. Several other city officials, local school-aged children and residents of the Washington Park area are expected to attend.
