City of Chester Health Board Partners with Local Agencies
to Host COVID-19 Testing Events in Chester
(CHESTER, PA) – The city of Chester’s Health Board, in partnership with Keystone First, a Medicaid managed care organization that serves Medical Assistance recipients in southeastern Pennsylvania, the Foundation for Delaware County, and CATE will host several COVID-19 testing events for the community in the next coming weeks.
While these events will be of no cost to the public, any person who has insurance should bring their insurance card. Any person 18 and older concerned about COVID-19 exposure is welcome to be tested.
The events will feature drive-thru and walk-up testing options, free health/wellness literature in English and Spanish, and consultations.
Attendees who arrive at the site for testing on foot should adhere to social distancing guidelines. Everyone attending should wear a mask.
Last month, the partnership hosted two similar events, which also included flu shots for the community. Nearly 150 COVID-19 tests were administered and more than a dozen people received flu shots. Out of the attendees who received a COVID-19 test, five tested positive for the virus. All persons who received a positive or inconclusive test result were notified by phone and mail.
Chester City officials and all community partners continue to urge residents to adhere to CDC regulations related to stopping the spread of COVID-19. Constituents are encouraged to take advantage of accessible testing sites in the community.
