Chester City Dec. 16 Deliberative & Council Meetings Canceled, Public Hearing & Special Meeting Added for Dec. 30

 

(CHESTER, PA) – The city of Chester’s Deliberative and Council Meetings scheduled for Wednesday, December 16, 2020 have been canceled.

A Public Hearing and Special Council Meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

The Public Hearing will be held at 10:00 a.m. to review the 2021 City budget, at which time citizens will be given the opportunity to submit oral or written comments on the proposed budget.  The Special Council Meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. for the 2021 City budget and general purposes.

The preliminary budget is available for inspection during the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the office of the City Clerk, One Fourth Street, Chester, PA.

Council intends to adopt the budget at its Special Council Meeting.

Chester City Councilmembers will conduct both the Public Hearing and Special Council Meeting via Zoom. The meetings will be streamed live on Facebook.

Special Council Meeting (approximately 10:30am)

Residents or taxpayers of the city of Chester who wish to provide a public comment for the 2021 City budget can submit their comment via email until 9:45 a.m. on December 30.

Any person submitting a public comment must include the same information that is requested at a public meeting.  This information includes a person’s name and address.

All public comments will be read into record during the meetings.  Chester City Councilmembers will offer a response to these comments, if warranted.

If a public comment is received without the requested information or if the comment is deemed inappropriate, it will not be read into record or accepted as an official submission.
