July 3, 2009 & July 4, 2009 - Chester July 4th Celebration
This year the City of Chester will be holding a weekend long July 4th Celebration, with festivities kicking off on Friday, July 3, 2009 in Chester Park, featuring live entertainment by Whodini, Chubb Rock and Dana Dane. The celebration will continue in the park on Saturday, July 4th starting at 12:00 pm with a day of activities, including a wing eating contest, fashion show, horse and carriage rides and a dunk tank, along with live entertainment by Midnight Star and fireworks at dusk. Come out for a day of barbequing, dancing and entertainment in the park.

August 29, 2009 - Mayor's Annual Citywide Cleanup
Come out and help make Chester beautiful by participating in the Mayor's Annual Citywide Cleanup on Saturday, August 29, 2009 from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm (Rain date: September 12). Volunteers, residents, Churches other local organizations will disburse throughout the city, targeting lots, playgrounds and neighborhood streets, picking up debris, and cutting grass and high weeds. Residents and business owners are urged to come out that day and help clean their areas.
