I am pleased to welcome you to Pennsylvania's first city and the newest destination, the City of Chester. Settled in 1644, nestled on the edge of the state's southeastern region, Chester is a prime location for businesses that value direct access to the Greater Philadelphia region. Just minutes from the Philadelphia International Airport, Chester is a regional transportation hub with direct access to major roadways including, I-95, I-476, and I-295 and the New Jersey Turnpike by way of the Commodore Barry Bridge. The City is a prime location to live, work, and raise a family. With Chester's location and accessibility being second to none, we are proud to be the home to nationally recognized companies such as Kimberly-Clark, PQ Corporation, Wells Fargo Financial, Synygy, and Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack, along with respected institutions like Widener University and Crozer Chester Medical Center. Chester has developed a track record of being responsive to its citizens and businesses of all sizes. |

We are proud to say that for thirteen consecutive years there has been no real estate tax increase in our city and we have reduced our resident and non-resident wage taxes significantly. Over the past six years there has been an influx of new and diverse technology based businesses that proudly call Chester their home. They include: Admin-Server, Educational Directories Unlimited, NAVMAR Applied Sciences, MYI Consulting, OLCR, RL Associates, and many more. Since 1996, Chester has attracted more than $1.36 billion dollars in public and private investment as part of our efforts to revitalize the city. Our success is partly attributable to the close working relationship our city government has developed with county, state, and federal officials. Because of their cooperation and support, Chester is now considered one of the most economically dynamic communities in the region. Chester is one of the most historic and culturally diverse areas in the region. We are a city with a big heart and a strong indomitable spirit with numerous claims to fame including: William Penn's first landing; we are the home of the original hoagie; the talented Ethel Waters was born and raised here; and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. studied and preached in Chester. Chester has a historical past, a vibrant present and a very promising future.
