Future Projects and Development
Boys & Girls Club of Chester Recreation Center
The City has been working for some time with the Boys and Girls Club of Chester to establish a new location for their recreational programs that will not require young children to cross the five lanes of traffic on the increasingly busy Route 291. The new facility will be located at 7th and Madison Streets on a parcel previously assembled by the City for this purpose. The new facility will feature a computer lab, classroom and tutorial space, indoor basketball courts, general recreation/activities area, and other related amenities. Construction for the $4.0 million project will begin once the final design of the center is completed. |

Rivertown Development & Soccer Stadium

Along Chester's emerging waterfront, plans are being rendered for an exciting $400 million waterfront development project. It was recently announced that the City will receive $47 million in state funding to aid in the construction of the site. The new development will be located adjacent to the Wharf at Rivertown, located along Seaport Drive. Anchored by an 18,500 seat soccer stadium, this new development includes over 200 new residential units, over 22,000 square feet of retail space, 335,000 square feet of office space, a 200,000 square foot exhibition center and a 1,350 space parking garage. This new expansion of the Rivertown development will further transform our waterfront into a destination for the entire Philadelphia region. |
