Chester Police Activities League (PAL)

 

Chester PAL is a sanctioned chapter of the National Association of Police Athletics/Activities League, Inc. The PAL program offers a large variety of sports, education, and recreational programs to the youth for free. There are 27 centers across the city of Philadelphia that serves nearly 23,000 boys and girls. Chester PAL has been very successful in fostering relationships with the youth from the streets of Chester by providing extracurricular activities that will enable them to have a productive transition through their adolescent years.  The Chester PAL Program provides after school programs, special sporting events, education programs and mentoring to youth between the ages of 8 and 18. Chester PAL implements locally based prevention strategies that are designed to prevent and or reduce juvenile crime by providing the youth of Chester with structured recreation, cultural, and educational activities in a supervised safe and gang free environment.

Chester PAL provides youth development activities for the aforementioned age group in various setting in the city of Chester.  In the past nine years, our program has reached out to over 4000 adolescents through our in-school, after-school, and/or summer program.  Youth activities include Dance, All Pro Dad and Male Responsibility mentoring, Art, Music and Entertainment, Media and Communication, Jr. Olympic Skills Competition, and educational/recreational field trips.
