Shepard A. Garner Director of Accounts & Finance
Shepard Garner is a lifelong resident of the City of Chester. He was educated in the Chester Upland School District until his senior year of high school where he was awarded a basketball scholarship to attend Solebury Prep School where he graduated in 1989. He then matriculated to Alvernia College in Reading, PA, where he graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in both Accounting and Business Management.
Mr. Garner began his professional career while attending Alvernia working for CTCE Credit Union in Reading, PA in 1993 where he received unlimited training in the field of accounting. Mr. Garner is presently employed with Delcora, as a Staff Accountant.
In addition to his professional duties, Mr. Garner spends much of his time volunteering in the community where his calling is to help children. He was an Assistant Coach for Village Charter School's varsity Basketball Team from 2000 to 2002. He worked as a Mentor/Coach/Referee for the City of Chester's Violence Prevention Summer Program called "Camp Umoja Nia" from 1997-2006. He is an active member of the Rotary Club of Chester, which has programs that serve the community, such as Toys for Tots, a book bag program, as well as a coat drive and a scholarship fund for Chester residents. Mr. Garner was hired by New Foundations Foster Care Agency in Chester as a Recruiter for foster families in 2005.
